Organic Wool Insulator Mattress Pad - Twin

Our Certified Organic Wool Pad is designed to be placed on top of a mattress for breathability and a bit of softness, or put between a mattress and slats or foundation for breathability. Use with our latex cores or any mattress to create a comfortable bed. Approximately 1/5th inch thick. Our Organic Wool Batting is a certification process we go through so yourcustomers know that the wool is chemical free and processed under the strictguidelines set forth by the Global Organic Textiles Standards, (GOTS).Woolgatherer is a 100% Organic Certified Processor and Handler of OrganicFibers and Textiles,(Oregon Tilth: CA-OTCO-CO-08-01082), since 2008.Our Growers: Our Organic Wool is imported from the most premiereplaces in the world including South America, Australia, New Zealand andEurope. All growers adhere to the strict GOTS guidelines. There are manytypes of sheep breeds used in our organic wool but primarily we use Dorsetand Columbia.We take every opportunity to source our Wool directly from family farms inSouth America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. By working closely withinternational growers we are able to stabilize prices and quality.Woolgatherer has a personal relationship with each of our wool-growers that is mutuallybeneficial. This allows us to give the farmers our specific wool preferences (such as howfine or coarse, and the amount of crimp) so that they can alter their flocks to fit ourspecifications.The Process: After the wool is purchased it goes to a cleaning facility, or scouring plant.At the scouring plant, the wool is washed according to GOTS requirements. It is thendried and baled for its preparation to ship to Woolgatherer for garneting and processing.Each bale is carefully inspected and tested before leaving the facility to make sure itmeets our high standards.At Woolgatherer: Before we can run organic wool we go through an extensive cleaningprocess. Other wool suppliers will simply purchase organic wool and run it on the samemachines used to process non-organic fibers, (cotton, polyester, etc). WoolgathererCarding Mill takes the time and added expense to shut down production and hand-cardeach and every fiber from our machines prior to running your certified organic wool inorder to prevent cross-contamination of foreign fibers. After the cleaning process we run it on our high class garnetingmachine. This process uses cylinders of metal teeth to separate each fiber and convert it into a thin web of wool were it islapped into beautiful batting.
