Four-time National Hockey Coach of the Year Mike McShane believes that the best practices involve a lot of skating, they keep everyone involved, they are run at a high tempo and, most importantly, have a flow from one skill set to another.

In this presentation, Coach McShane gives you a high tempo, 29-drill practice that shows you how to build a flow into your practices that will connect the imperative skills of the game to critical system concepts.

McShane begins with a brief skating warm-up that includes five drills. Next he moves into passing and shooting drills, mirror drills, pivot drills, checking drills, a 1-on-1 series, a cycling series and a small games series. For each drill and skill, McShane not only coaches his players but also narrates key points of focus for coaching each phase of the activity.

Throughout the presentation, McShane repeatedly incorporates important intangibles of the game such as communication, teamwork and competitiveness while improving his player's hockey IQ.
